A timely diagnosis will always save a life. Under this slogan, the Cardioinfantil Foundation and the Social Consciousness Foundation maintain their alliance to bring life expectancy to low-income children and adolescents with suspected heart disease.
For more than two decades, these foundations have been working together for children in our region to offer assessments, specialized exams and processes such as catheterization or free cardiac surgeries.
Last year the pandemic forced the cessation of diagnostic brigades, which are crucial in the lives of some minors. However, in 2021 they decided to give continuity to their social work and from 5 to 15 April at the Club de Leones de Barranquilla (Calle 66 No 38-99) will be conducting pediatric assessments to children with suspected heart disease.
These consultations will be made by appointment. For registrations these telephone or WhatsApp lines were enabled: 3017910697- 3002482150; however, if not all patients are scheduled to be scheduled on the dates indicated, these lines will remain enabled to identify the most urgent cases.
The interdisciplinary team of the Cardioinfantil Foundation will evaluate the cases of prioritized minors so that they receive free, comprehensive and timely care (medical treatment -surgery or catheterization-, transfers, accommodation and food in Bogotá) that allows them to have a healthy heart.
As for the children who are waiting for their control, because they have already received some intervention in their heart, they must contact them to schedule a teleconsultation, a virtual appointment led directly by the medical team of the social program of the Cardioinfantil Foundation.
These consultations are permanently enabled, so that the children’s attention is constant and on time.
