The mother of British teenage actor Archie Lyndhurst has revealed the cause of her sudden death and has shared a beautiful and heartbreaking tribute to her late son.
The star, best known for her role in the CBBC comedy series “So Awkward,” died at the age of 19 on September 22, 2020, just one month after her birthday. She is the only child of Lucy Lyndhurst and her husband and actor Nicolas Lyndhurst from “Only Fools and Horses.” On Friday, January 15, Lucy shared photos of the couple with Archie on Instagram and revealed that she died of a cerebral hemorrhage caused by a rare cancer.
“Four days before Christmas, Nick and I sat on Harley Street with the results of Archie’s second post mortem,” he wrote. “A very detailed document, which the coroner had warned us, would be a distressing reading and best explained by a doctor. The doctor explained that Archie died of natural causes (something we already knew, just gossip, keyboard warriors, trolls and the ignorant thought differently). “
She continued: “She died of an intracerebral hemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic lymphoma / leukemia. It’s not leukemia as we know it, the word acute in medical terms means fast. She assured us that no one could have done anything like Archie he showed no signs of illness. Archie had numerous bleeds in his brain and the doctor made an effort to make sure he would not have suffered any pain as he did during sleep. “

Lucy said that a few days before her death, Archie celebrated her early birthday with “the love of her life Nethra,” who “had to leave with work commitments.” Archie had dated her co-star “So Awkward”, Nethra Tilakumara. The actress paid tribute to her own Instagram page several times after her death.
“Archie was the most extraordinary magical human being we have ever known,” Lucy wrote in her message. “We are still learning every day the incredible impact it had on other people’s lives, the kindness and generosity it showed them. It was an old soul and incredibly advanced for many years in many ways. As parents we don’t we could be more proud of him, for all that he achieved in the short time they gave him, and especially for the beautiful human being that he was. “
She continued: “We are very grateful and privileged to have been chosen to be her parents. The journey and adventure have been the best anyone could have wished for. A truly magical time in every way possible.”
In a second Instagram post shared that day, Lucy wrote, “Nick and I try every day to make Archie proud, but sometimes it’s harder than a fight. The world is a very different place without him. One of my favorites last conversations with him dealt with everything that was happening in the world, chaos, rage on all the different subjects. He looked at me with his huge blue and lively eyes, shook his head and said, “Everyone need is love Mama, it’s so easy to love. “And to him it was. He gave it wherever he went in abundance.”
Lucy also said her son was an “empath” who “loved life, valued everyone who was there and every moment they gave him.”
“I always sang and had so much energy and passion in everything I did,” he wrote. “Being a part of his life has been the greatest joy of joy. We miss him every day and always will. There are not enough words to describe him, he was unique and more than unique. Our dear boy , we love you forever and thank you every day for every beautiful memory we have.We will always celebrate you.All our love.Mom and OM
