If you have been playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently and you’ve found yourself killing in some pretty unusual ways, maybe there would be a good explanation. Apparently, one of the many attachments in the game now is to allow players to basically see through the walls, getting a strong boost to the competition.
Seen by u / AvHsA on Reddit, by equipping the Tiger Team Spotlight Body attachment to a weapon, you can see the names of enemy players as they aim. The attachment doesn’t reveal the exact scheme of the opposing players, but if you can see their name within the game, well, it’s good enough to get them. Obviously, this is a major issue and Treyarch should probably try to fix it sooner rather than later.
It is worth noting that from this writing it is not clear to what extent this error is consistent in its entirety. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This trick was discovered on one of the game’s newest maps, Express, but it’s unclear if it’s a problem at all locations. Also, it is not really known if this same error is present with the Tiger Team Spotlight file when it is equipped with all the weapons or if it only causes this problem with some guns.
As of this writing, Treyarch has said nothing about the error and may not even be aware of its existence. Nor does it seem like something so much Black Ops Cold War players have even noticed it until recently. That said, the longer you are present in the game, the more players will start to know about it and will probably take advantage of it. As such, Treyarch really needs to grab it quickly or risk ruining the goal of Black Ops Cold War for the foreseeable future.
If we hear anything new about the study plans to modify this error, we will surely warn you in the future.
