MONDAY: Cloudy morning. Sunny afternoon. Maximum: 38.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Maximum: 40.
FORECAST SUMMARY
This week is quiet weather.
But, let’s start the cloudy work week – it’s the gray start of Monday morning.
We will start to see some sunbeams in the clouds at lunchtime and then in the afternoon we will get more sun.
Look for a nice sunset at 4:55 p.m. Monday.
Since we are cloudy for half the day, our highs will get stuck in the 30s on Monday.
Then the sky clears up Monday night and we are sunny on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Since on Tuesday we do a full day of sunshine, we will go back to the 40s. Then we get to the mid 40s by Thursday.
From the south comes a “softer” air to take us back to the mid-1940s. The air usually flows from the south in front of a cold front, and on Friday we get that cold front.
When it gets Friday afternoon, we will get cloudy. The afternoon clouds return to our highs at 40 lows.
It’s a weak cold front, so we’ll stay dry while it crosses.
Then we go back to the 30s over the weekend as we feel the effects of the cold front.
On Saturday, it will be cloudy again in the afternoon. These clouds are of the lake effect. No, we are not snowing. But the Western and Central PA will. When the air arrives, the snow will have already fallen. So we only get the clouds on Saturday afternoon.
Friday and Saturday are quite windy, so it will add extra cooling to the air.
On Sunday we start with a breeze, but in the afternoon we lose the wind. Enjoy the sunny sky all day.
Next Monday (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), it’s even colder. You may say cold enough to snow …

Too early to pinpoint a day (January 18-20) or if it will even happen, but they have been consistent with a snowstorm in the forecast for the start of the work week, next week. Therefore, we will monitor it and let you know if it seems like a reality.
