PHOENIX: A second state vaccination site against COVID-19 will open next month following high demand at the state’s first location at State Farm Stadium.
On February 1, Phoenix Municipal Stadium will open as a coronavirus vaccination site. Registration for appointments at the site will begin Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 9 a.m., according to a press release from Governor Doug Ducey’s office.
Phoenix City Stadium, located near Phoenix Zoo, on the corner of Mill Avenue and Priest Drive / Galvin Parkway, will offer daytime appointments based on vaccine availability.

The news comes as State Farm Stadium continues to record a high number of vaccine records, which translates into a full January at Glendale site.
On Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m., there will also be more appointments for State Farm Stadium in February. They will also offer second-dose appointments, in addition to current first-dose capacity, according to the press release.
The governor’s office says there are more than 200 vaccination sites that have received the vaccine in Arizona, including 45 community health centers.
For those who still want to sign up for an appointment with the coronavirus vaccine, county health departments are said to be working to expand availability at their sites.
The CDC’s retail pharmacy program will add up to 100 pharmacy stores that can administer the vaccine over the next few weeks. Once the program is in full development, more than 800 Arizona pharmacies will have the vaccine available.
As of Thursday morning, nearly 190,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered in Arizona, including 17,000 people who have completed both doses.
