The country’s highest, the UP vaccination rate ahead of the United States and Russia, says health ministry | News from India

LUCK: With the administration of more than two doses of vaccine in just 20 days, Uttar Pradesh has become the fastest state in India to carry out vaccination against Covid-19. What is added to the achievement is that the daily rate of vaccination in UP is higher than in the United States of America and Russia.
The September assessment, conducted by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, noted that UP administered an average of 11.73 lakh of daily doses of Covid-19 vaccine per day.
It is much more than other states of the top five: Maharashtra (7.6 lakh jabs per day), Gujarat (4.80 lakh), Madhya Pradesh (3.71 lakh) and Rajasthan (4.5 lakh), calculated from data from the Cowin Portal.
The Ministry of Health comparison also showed that the daily rate of vaccination in UP is higher than in the United States of America, where 8.09 lakh doses are administered daily. It is also ahead of countries such as Mexico (5.56 lakh per day), Russia (3.68 lakh), France (2.48 lakh) and Canada (0.85 lakh) were also far behind the vaccines daily.
CM Secretary Alok Kumar-III said vaccination against Covid-19 was the top priority of the Yogi Adityanath government as it was the best line of defense against the pandemic. “The CM is monitoring the situation twice a day and has urged people to show up and get vaccinated as soon as possible,” he said.
Praising the achievement, health department officials credited the improvement of the hard work done by the field staff and the cluster approach. UP administered more than 33.42 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine on September 6, the highest vaccination achieved in a single day by any state since the start of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“The recent evaluation by the Union Ministry of Health, the Department of Health Research and the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) showed that the effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing mortality with a single dose was superior. at 96%, while with doses it was 97.5% .It was also concluded that vaccines help prevent mortality from Covid-19 in all age groups, ”Kumar said.
Experts, however, opine that while comparison with other countries might motivate it, it was not fair to do so, as the goal before UP was much larger than all. In addition, the scale fluctuates against UP when it is known that more than 64% of the eligible population in the US has taken at least one dose while 52% are fully vaccinated.
Against this, the CoWin portal (updated until 6pm on 9/11) indicated that 8.67 doses of crora have been administered to UP. In terms of population, 7.21 million have taken at least one dose, while 1.45 million are fully vaccinated. This represents an achievement of more than 47% and 9.5% when seen against the target of 15.25 million.
Meanwhile, the steady decline in the number of daily cases and the increase in recoveries brought the active cases of the state to 184. Only 14 new cases and 19 recoveries were recorded across the state in the last 24 hours.
Active cases are distributed in only 41 districts, while new cases were reported in 10 districts. In addition, up to 34 districts in the state have been liberated from the Covid-19.
