The COVID-19 vaccine was available to anyone 18 years of age or older at a jazz event in Orlando, according to the curator

ORLANDO, Fla. – A vaccine against Johnson and Johnson was available to anyone 18 years of age or older at Jazz in the Park in Orlando on Saturday, according to city commissioner Bakari Burns.

“If you’re 18 or older, you can get vaccinated,” Commissioner Bakari Burns said.

Burns said this in a Facebook Live post around 5:30 p.m. He posted this message around 1:13 p.m. on Saturday. About three hours later, Burns clarified his claim and said anyone 18 years of age or older with comorbidities.

News 6 did talk to people under the age of 40 who received the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.

Tickets for the event at Bill Frederick Park sold out earlier this week, according to Burns’ Facebook page.

“We all need to consider getting the vaccine if you haven’t,” Burns said.

Burns said the shootings were managed by crews from the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

Starting Monday, anyone 50 years of age or older will be able to choose a coronavirus vaccine in Florida.

Starting Monday, anyone 40 years of age or older will be able to get vaccinated at the Orange County Convention Center.

There were 250 doses of vaccine available at the event.
