Writer and director Mike Flanagan has been giving his fellow horror creators Ryan Murphy a chance for his money with those on Netflix Chase , which began with Haunting of Hill House and continued this year with Haunting of Bly Manor. While the fledgling anthology series has so many places to explore, Flanagan said he “has no more chapters planned.” But that doesn’t mean it’s definitely gone.

Flanagan shared a Twitter that “at the moment there are no plans” to continue creating Chase shows that his team is focusing on other TV shows for Netflix. However, he noted that “we should never say never” to a continuation of the Chase anthology series: leaving fans a little hopeful to be able to see more haunted houses in the future of Netflix.

This is a bit of a surprise, given the success of the series in such a short time. After the massive success of Haunting of Hill House, Flanagan and partner Trevor Macy signed a multi-year deal with Netflix for a number of TV shows, which included Chase in an ongoing series. The show has continued this year Haunting of Bly Manor, but it seems that at the moment things could be stopped in favor of other projects.

Right now, Flanagan is working on a new limited series called Netflix Midnight Mass, which sees the return of Chase Starring Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas and Rahul Kohli. The seven-episode series takes place on an island, where the normally isolated community is in the midst of something supernatural after the arrival of a mysterious but charismatic priest. Plus, Flanagan is adapting Christopher Pike’s horror novel for young people The midnight club for Netflix. Its plot is similar to Are you afraid of the dark?, about a gang of kids who get together to tell scary stories, but will incorporate elements from other novels by Pike.

Haunting of Hill House i Haunting of Bly Manor are available to watch on Netflix.
