The daughter of the Lombardi Trophy designer wants to apologize to Tom Brady

The launch of Tom Brady’s Lombardi Trophy boat that went viral on Wednesday didn’t work well with a woman from Fort Myers, Florida, who said the launch was an insult to her family’s legacy.

“I was just annoyed that this trophy was dishonored and disrespected for being thrown like it was real football,” Lorraine Grohs told Fox4.

During the Buccaneers ’boat parade on the Hillsborough River to celebrate Tampa Bay’s 2021 Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs, the 43-year-old quarterback threw the Lombardi Trophy from his yacht to someone on another boat.

This upset Grohs, who is the daughter of Greg Grohs, the silver master of Tiffany and Company from 1967 to 1994, who crafted the first Vince Lombardi Trophy.

He said the seven-time Super Bowl champion did not respect the trophy and the people who work on it.

“I have a great history of this trophy that my dad made, it’s an honor and I know all the craftsmen who made it when my dad was also at Tiffany’s and it requires a lot of work,” Grohs said.

Now, Grohs wants Brady to say he’s sorry.

“Personally I would like to apologize, not just to myself and my family and the other silversmiths, but to the fans, all the football fans and the other players on the team,” he said.

Groh told the network that throwing Brady’s trophy bothered her so much that she spent sleepless nights because she treated the passion her father put into the trophy so lightly.

“I’ve seen this trophy made at Tiffany’s factory and it’s a beautiful trophy,” Grohs said. “My father had to chisel the seams. He had to chisel the seams by hand. There is a newspaper article that shows him working on this trophy. The ball is formed by hand and so is the base ”. Grohs explained.

Grohs, who said she was not a big fan of football, is always waiting for the end of the Super Bowl to be able to watch the Lombardi Trophy celebration going to the Super Bowl winner.

“I just watch the match to see the trophy come out,” he said. “I like to see all the owners and the football players hold it with such great pride and keep it and show everyone and me the goosebumps. … Like right now, I have the goosebumps.”

Brady also got more attention when he needed the help of an escort to walk as he returned to land after the boat parade.

But it looks like Brady is done with his party and is ready to go back to work.

On Saturday, he returned to work with coach Alex Guerrero according to a photo posted by TB12 Sports on Twitter. It included the hashtag # EyesOn8.
