Dominican rock is in mourning with the late departure on Tuesday of one of its exponents, Homer Guerrero, musician and producer of the national alternative art scene. He was 49 years old.
Homer was bear in several groups, among them “Los Fulanos” and “Machacao”. The latter was his most eclectic and personal project, being also a composer and arranger.
Guerrero was so diverse for the scene that he also created and produced the events “Rock LTD” (musical competitions where reference was made to the emblematic figure of Lluís Terror Dies), and the “Rock Camp”, aimed at children and adolescents, among others.
Manager, stage manager, entrepreneur, owner of such legendary spaces as “Bar H” and “Ye Old Homer”; cultural manager and main figure in projects aimed at the dissemination and growth of rock, alternative music and causes of social impact.
He was also essential for dozens of musical projects, such as that of his friend and life brother Pavel Núñez, whom he joined for a long history.
Homerito leaves great pain and emptiness to many who, today after his departure, have expressed their grief and anecdotes on social media.

Homer’s departure occurred on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the morning, after presenting a critical and ascending picture resulting from a supra-ventricular tachycardia and other complications that culminated in his life.
He leaves a woman, two daughters, and an entire artistic community immersed in sadness and a “Until now Homer.”
His body is buried at the Blandino Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. this Wednesday, December 30th.
