The Denver Broncos have resigned from quarterback Brett Rypien, according to a report by Mike Klis of KUSA-TV.
If Rypien eliminates the resignations Wednesday afternoon, he will be eligible to sign with the Denver 16-player roster. However, there is a possibility that a team that needs a QB can add it to their active list.
Rypien (6-2, 202 pounds) entered the NFL as an unwritten free agent for Boise State with the Broncos in 2019 after earning the MWC Offensive Player of the Year honors.
After spending most of his rookie season in the Denver training squad, Rypien served as a backup in 2020. Rypien was a substitute for injuries against the New York Jets in Week 4 and led the Broncos to a 37-28 victory.
Rypien completed 67.5% of his passes last season for 295 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.
So far, the Broncos have made 15 cuts. Denver needs to make 27 roster moves to reach the 53-man roster on Tuesday.
