The Deputy Minister of Economy resigns and Bukele changes to Vice-President of the BRC

The changes in the Economic Cabinet are in addition to others confirmed this week, including the new Minister of Agriculture and the appointment of Pablo Anliker as Deputy Minister of this state portfolio.

New changes of officials within the Economic Cabinet of Nayib Bukele have been announced this Thursday. Reliable sources have confirmed that on this day the resignation of the Deputy Minister of Economy, Miguel Ángel Corleto Urey, who was sworn into office in June 2019 with the arrival of this government.

The source has confirmed that Corleto Urey is leaving the institution for a better job opportunity. According to the Transparency Portal, before becoming Deputy Minister, Corleto was technical coordinator in the Superintendency of Competition and also served as a specialist in the Planning Department in the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System, SG-SICA.

On the other hand, it has been confirmed that the vice-president of the Central Reserve Bank, Otto Rodríguez, also left the post, and in his place was appointed Hazel González, who has worked at the institution since 2000 and until now he developed as a National Accounts Specialist.

Rodriguez began his career at the Central Reserve Bank in 1995 as a Monetary Operations Analyst and later rose as a Monetary Operations Specialist. He served as Head of the Financial Programming and Analysis Section and since 2010, as Head of the Financial System Development Department.

These new changes are in addition to other movements that have taken place in the Economic Cabinet since last week.
