A new update activated Destination 3 has revealed that it will not be published soon. In fact, at the time of its release, it may not be a PS5 and Xbox Series X game, but a launch game for the PS6 and what ends up being called the next Xbox. According to Bungie, there are currently no plans to release them Destination 3 in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025, which is the earliest that could be released sometime in 2026. By then, the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be six years old and it is likely that the PS6 and the upcoming Xbox will not be far off.
More than releasing Destination 3, Bungie will quadruple with the support of Destiny 2 with new stories and expansions, including a new sequel to “Lightfall.” Unfortunately, however, as expected, Bungie remains inaccurate when talking about this future content, but it seems similar to the support the game has received since its release.
As expected, the players are divided on this news and this is mainly due to the players being divided on the current state of Destiny 2 to himself. Some are happy with the state of the game and its speed of updating, and therefore feel happy to know that it will be supported for at least another four years. Those on the other side of this division will not be so happy to know that the next installment is so out.
Between games like Fortnite, Rocket League, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, War zone, and other jugglers in this space who have chosen to support the base they have instead of chasing more with a sequel, it is not surprising Destination 3 it will not come soon. But the persistent online space is very competitive and it remains to be seen if Destiny 2 it can survive for so long.
