The Detroit Pistons-Denver Nuggets game was postponed Monday minutes before the game started

Monday’s Pistons-Denver Nuggets game was postponed minutes before its ET tip at 9 p.m. at Ball Arena due to tracking contacts within the Pistons, the NBA announced.

Detroit returned a positive / inconclusive coronavirus test to one player, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Pistons were watching a movie before the game when they learned of the postponement.

The NBA recently made the decision to postpone the games in case a single test came back potentially positive.

Detroit was scheduled to play the second game of a five-city trip to the Western Conference in Denver on Monday. The Pistons have scheduled games against the Jazz (Tuesday), Suns (Friday) and Lakers (Saturday). More testing will have to be done before Detroit’s ability to play this week is clearer, sources said.

Monday’s game marked the return of two former Nuggets: Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee. Denver players could be seen talking and hugging their former teammates during pre-match warm-ups.

This is the 23rd game postponed due to COVID-19 this NBA season.
