Last month, Blizzard announced it Devil II: resurrected. It is a remaster of the base game and Lord of Destruction, which will hit Nintendo Switch and many other platforms this year. If you’re a return player, you might be interested to know that you can actually use your saved original game on PC.
Speaking to IGN, game producer Matthew Cederquist explained how support for storing files more than two decades old was not initially planned. The team tested it and it worked.
“It simply came to our notice then [the remaster], we wondered if the old save files would work and we introduced them and it worked. And we would say, “Okay, that’s the best feature in history.”
Although it was not mentioned if this feature would even work with the console versions of the game, the remaster supports cross-progression. So, in theory, you should be able to upload the saved PC file to your computer version and access it on the console platform of your choice.
Even if you don’t have your original saved ones, technically it means you can start leveling a character you choose in the original PC version (which is available on Battle.Net), as the remaster is the same game with new audio and graphics, and some other changes, such as improved user interface, extended booking, and renewed stopover seasons.
