LOS ANGELES – Trea Turner, Albert Pujols and Chris Taylor fired home runs in support of the work of Max Scherzer, who led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-3 win over the New York Mets on Saturday.
Scherzer won for the third time in four openings since being acquired by the Dodgers, who have racked up nine wins, equaling their best streak of the season.
Six of those wins came against the Mets, who have lost eight of nine commitments overall.
Kenley Jansen solved the ninth chapter in white, to prove his 27 rescues. He hit Kevin Enxampar at the start of the inning, before retiring Brandon Nimmo with a shot.
He concluded the work with punches to Jeff McNeill and Pete Alonso.
The Dodgers had a three-run lead after six innings, before Alonso hit a two-goal homer, his 28th of the campaign, against reliever Blake Treinen in the seventh.
Scherzer (11-4) has tolerated five clean runs in 21 innings and a third for a 2.11 ERA since he was acquired at the Washington Nationals on July 30.
Rich Hill (6-5) accepted a 3:00 solitary volleyball in five innings, including the 15th of the Dominican Pujols in the season.
