The East Grand Forks establishment was closed after the governor’s order was violated

East Grand Forks, MN (Valley News Live) – The state of Minnesota has closed the East Grand Forks bar, announcing it will reopen on Facebook earlier this week. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced Friday, Dec. 11, that the Polk County District Court has issued a resolution of his office for a temporary restraining order to prevent the public from eating at the Pollock Walk Bar and Grill. The restaurant had been operating in violation of the order for about 72 hours. Attorney General Ellison’s Office filed a lawsuit against Portwall Bar and Grill for violating the law’s administrative order during peacetime emergencies. The executive order gives the attorney general’s office the power of civil enforcement. The court is scheduled to hold a hearing on the case on Wednesday, December 16 at 9:00 am. A copy of the court order is available here. This is the second enforcement action brought by the Office of the Attorney General under Executive Order 20-99. The first was on Dec. 2, opposite a gym in Wapasha County. Copyright 2020 KVLV All rights reserved.
