One of the biggest complaints fans have had about the Epic Games Store in recent years is that it doesn’t offer as many features compared to other digital markets. While Epic has taken a while to add major updates to the platform over time, it looks like 2021 could finally be the year that some long-awaited additions will finally be added to the showcase.
A recent blog on the Epic website detailed some of the plans for the Epic Games Store over the next year. Epic said one of its most important goals for EGS this year is to make it a more desirable platform for developers to release their games. “We want a smooth, fluid experience for developers who want to bring their titles to the Epic Games Store,” the blog post explained. Taken together, this will allow customers to be able to buy even more games instead of having to go elsewhere to buy them.
It’s 2021 and that means:
✔️ More games
✔️ More options
✔️ More fun

While this was a key feature that Epic focused on, the company also said it wants to improve the customer experience much further. As such, it is said that further improvements will come to the Achievements and Wish Lists functions. In addition, Epic also seeks to improve the social experience at EGS as a whole and wants to introduce some adjustments to player profiles.
Perhaps most importantly, though, Epic also slyly mocked that one of the most requested features for Epic Games Store should arrive soon as well. Although not fully mentioned, Epic ended the post with an emoji from the shopping cart followed by a question mark. This seems to indicate that an e-cart feature will finally head to Epic Games Store sometime in the future. At this time, games cannot be added to a larger platform cart, but must be purchased one by one. Many EGS users have been requesting a solution for this for a long time and it seems that these requests will eventually be answered.
At this time, Epic has not given any specific chronology as to when these features could be formally added to the market. However, we’ll be sure to keep your eyes open for more information and keep you posted here on ComicBook.com to move you forward.
So what do you think about these future changes to Epic Games Store? And what else would you like the platform to fit into in the future? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.
