An FBI intelligence report sent to law enforcement on Monday warned that QAnon supporters have debated posing as members of the National Guard in Washington, DC on the day of the inauguration.
The intelligence report obtained by The Washington Post warned that QAnon fans and the “lone wolves,” some of whom were present at the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, have indicated they plan to go to DC for the inauguration.
The FBI also says it observed people downloading and sharing maps of district locations, and discussed how they could be used to interfere with security.
However, the briefing did not identify specific plots to attack the inauguration that would be similar to the January 6 uprising.
The FBI did not characterize the credibility or seriousness of the threats posed to law enforcement in the Post, but referred to statements by FBI Director Christopher Wray last week.
“We are monitoring all incoming contacts, whether they are calls for armed protest, potential threats resulting from the Capitol violation on January 6 or other types of possible threats leading to inaugural events and other targets. So we are united with all our partners in that regard, ”Wray said.
A Secret Service spokesman told the newspaper that the agency “takes all threats seriously and will continue to work with our federal, state, local and military partners to continue to secure the 59th inauguration based on the relevant intelligence available to the security community “.

The Associated Press reported Sunday that the FBI is examining the 25,000 National Guard troops directed at DC for fear of a privileged attack.
More than 100 people have been arrested in connection with the riot, including members of law enforcement and former military personnel.
