Margaret Keenan, the first out-of-trial person to receive the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, received her second dose on Tuesday, making her the first patient to be fully immunized against the coronavirus.
Sky News reports that Keenan received his second dose at Coventry University Hospital, three weeks after his first dose on December 8th.
When he received his first dose of vaccine in early December, Keenan told reporters it was a “privilege” and “the best early birthday gift he could wish for.”
“We are delighted to welcome Margaret Keenan back to Coventry University Hospital today to safely receive the second dose of vaccination, after she became the first person in the world to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 after its clinical approval, ”said Andy Hardy, executive director of Coventry University Hospital.
“It’s important that everyone gets ahead of time when they are invited to do so and, like other hospitals and GP clinics across the country, we will follow the latest expert advice and testing to invite people to they need to be vaccinated at that time. “

The media reports that more than 616,000 people in the UK have taken the first doses of the coronavirus vaccine, although British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said last week that almost 800,000 people had received a dose of vaccine.
So far, the UK has only approved the Pfizer vaccine, although reports have been released that the AstraZeneca and Oxford University vaccine candidate will be approved some time this week.
Coronavirus cases in the UK are soaring with a record number of cases reported on Tuesday.
In addition to expanding cases, the UK is also facing a new strain of coronavirus that has been detected.
Scientists have said the virus variant is more infectious, although it does not appear to cause more severe cases of coronavirus. US and UK health experts have stated that the current vaccines that have been released, as well as those from AstraZeneca, are believed to be effective against this new strain.
The European Union began its vaccination campaign on Sunday by encouraging citizens to receive the vaccine. According to reports, the EU aims to immunize all its adults by the end of 2021.
