Ghol fish is not only a delicacy, but also has many medicinal properties.

Bombay:

A Palghar fisherman from Maharashtra, near Bombay, had never imagined that he would make a fortune with his catches and earn crores overnight.

Chandrakant Tare, a fisherman from the village of Murbe in Palghar district, took his boat out to sea for the first time on August 28 after lifting the monsoon fishing ban.

While fishing, he realized that the net had become heavy and immediately removed it. Crew members aboard the ship were surprised to see that it had caught about 150 ghol fish in the net at once.

Ghol fish is not only a delicacy, but also has many medicinal properties and is highly prized in various countries. Its parts are used to make medicines and other high-priced products.

The fish is also known as “the fish with the heart of gold.”

Seeing such a huge number of giant ghol fish, the people on the boat could not contain their joy and began to capture the moment on their mobile phones.

When the fishermen returned from the sea, the catch was auctioned off and attracted an offer of about 1.33 million rupees.

Chandrakant Tare’s son Somnath confirmed the deal, but said it has not yet been completed. According to Somnath, there is a bag in the stomach of ghol fish, which is in high demand abroad.

Ghol fish, scientific name Protonibea diacanthus, is a type of black cuckoo fish found in the Indo-Pacific region and is considered one of the most expensive varieties of marine fish.
