A Florida restaurant drew attention on social media on Valentine’s Day with a message announcing the store’s “no facial diapers required” sign welcoming customers without masks to the establishment.
In a Facebook post on Sunday that was shared hundreds of times, restaurant owners wrote, “Hello people! Happy Valentine’s Day. A kind reminder that we do NOT need face masks.”
The restaurant, located in Spring Hill, Florida, does not violate any mask order by allowing guests without masks, as governor of the state, Ron DeSantisRon DeSantisGaetz suggests that DeSantis could run for president in 2024 if Trump stays out of the picture. (R), has resisted enforcing a statewide mandate and prevented local municipalities from enforcing their mandates with fines.
The comment section of the post quickly fell into chaos, with most readers responding with “angry” reactions and grieving over the need for mask requirements.
“We’re getting a lot of feedback, both positive and negative,” restaurant owner Jesse Fox said in an interview with a local news channel.
“I do not have the feeling of going against the flow. I feel like I’m using common sense, “Fox said.
