French astronaut Thomas Pesquet is known for posting fascinating images on his Instagram account. The astronaut, who is on the International Space Station (ISS), has once again posted an intriguing post on Instagram. Pesquet usually posts photos of the Earth from the ISS. Many of his messages have shown beauty of outer space. But this time, he has chosen to take some photos of the same vehicle which has allowed him to take photographs that are literally out of this world.
Pesquet has focused its goal on the solar panels of the ISS service module, the powerful wings that support it when receiving solar energy. In the images, not only do the solar panels shine in all their splendor, but they are bright in a bluish hue that is probably the reflection of our blue planet.
Pesquet has published two images. In one, you see a collection of thousands of panels with the Earth in the background. But Pesquet has also enlarged the image and allowed the camera lens to reveal the fascinating beauty of the individual panels. The panels retain the blue hue and the image looks as if the wing of a butterfly has been enlarged to absorb the intricate beauty.
Pesquet’s photos have gone viral as always. The “Likes” are likely to reach 50,000. Comments are also pouring in.
Thomas Pesquet was sent to the International Space Station in November 2016 for a six-month mission. For his current mission, he was sent to the ISS aboard SpaceX Crew Dragon.
