Judi Sisco, a outspoken activist for years, couldn’t believe the text: a guy was asking about the giant painting of a vagina he wanted for his home office.
He hadn’t asked for any murals.
Then a pamphlet about bipolar disorder appeared in his mailbox. Followed by a pamphlet by Adam and Eve, a sex toy maker. Texts from herbalists and porn began to appear. Tweets and posts appeared on Instagram describing her as a cougar, to marry a younger man.
The 49-year-old defamation and harassment campaign against Sisco illustrates the ugliness that has become the neighborhood’s tug-of-war over homelessness in the neighborhood, with two rival advocacy groups – NoNimby vs. Upper West Siders for Safer Streets – declaring war on another.
Sisco points to some women, including Allison Weinger, who claims to be behind NoNimby, which supports the city’s decision to host hundreds of homeless men at the Lucerne Hotel. Sisco belongs to UWSSS, which has more than 15,000 members on Facebook and does not want another shelter in the neighborhood.
While Sisco is not an administrator or monitor, it admits that it is not free of any faults. He confronted NoNimby about what he described as “intimidation and intimidation” by his UWSSS friends.
“I’m not a shrinking flower,” he said, “and I have a big mouth.”
But he said the mural and pamphlets crossed the line, mostly because he has a 12-year-old son. He is the reason it is made public now.
“If we’re all nasty online, that’s fine. I can be nasty. They can be nasty. This is happening, ”Sisco told The Post. “Sharing my address and sending things to a house where a child lives is not good. That is another step. “
The ugliness began in late August on Instagram. Sisco said she confronted Weinger after Weinger accused UWSSS members of harassing her. There was a back and forth on Instagram and Twitter. Turned on. On November 20, Weinger had a long exchange on Instagram: the screenshots were shared with The Post, with an account holder named gislandjerseytears, who she believes is Sisco, but Sisco denies it.
Gislandjerseytears wrote, “Allison, why not? [Weinger’s husband] do you want to paste it? Maybe because you’re constantly hysterical? “
Allison.weinger replied, “Oh, Judy! She seems to be obsessed with my husband and our sex life. Project too much? Don’t worry, I have a girl covered! I’ll send you some vibrators, of course you need to.
On December 1, the sex toy catalog arrived.
When contacted by The Post, Weinger described herself only as a follower of NoNimby.
“I don’t know who Judi is, and she’s been attacking me and my family on Twitter,” Weinger said. “I would like this to end. To stop all this drama and stop making all these lies. “
Sisco suspects that Weinger and other members of NoNimby are behind the order of harassment and giant vagina.
“I don’t have hard tests,” he told The Post. “But I think there are a lot of things that connect them and a lot of directions.”
Sisco detailed “the harassment” in a Facebook post of more than 700 words. Sisco said he has not gone to the police, but has spoken to lawyers and sent a letter of cessation and resignation to NoNimby on Instagram.
“He did nothing,” he said of his letter.
