The Giants need more than the best of Daniel Jones to conquer Cowboys

Daniel Jones is as tough and brave as any of them, he is willing to play injured, he is willing to endure the pain and risk injuring his team. It doesn’t make him a hero; this is the unexpressed promise of loyalty that the franchise quarterback is expected to make.

Eli Manning spoiled Giants fans like Cal Ripken Jr. of the NFL, playing through a slightly spaced shoulder once and a plantar fasciitis once during his 210-game Ironman streak. The fact that the Giants still believe Jones may be their next Eli Manning hardly means anyone is excited to show up to play every time there’s a game on the calendar.

Jones missed two games as a rookie with a high ankle sprain and has missed two games this season with hamstring and ankle injuries that, if you accept it, will continue to prevent him from being an RPO and a threat of reading zone confine it to a pocket quarterback.

He has proved tough enough for Jones when he is healthy to get his team to the end zone and score points.

Forget for a moment that the Cowboys are as defensively challenged as the Giants.

With the season underway on Sunday against the Cowboys, this is not the time to expect miracles from Daniel Jones.

It’s time for all of his Giants teammates and coaches to gather around him with his best game of the season.

Give help to Daniel Jones.

“I read Daniel’s comments yesterday,” Joe Judge said on his New Year’s Eve birthday, referring to Jones admitting his lack of mobility, “probably a little closer than it would have been. I will always put the player ‘s health in mind as we call the game “.

All hands on deck.

Talk now with your pads or peace forever.

Jones was sacked six times by the Cardinals and six times by the Ravens, and that can’t happen against the Cowboys on a day when the Giants, who have scored 26 points in their last three games and have an average of 17.1 ranked 31 for match, you may need 24 points or more. Jason Garrett, who is convening plays for the first time since 2012, may silence some criticism and ruin Jerry Jones ’New Year’s Eve start with the mother of all game plans for a change.

“We have to run it better, we have to throw it better, we have to add more points and we have to contribute to winning in other ways as well by being more productive,” Garrett said.

Andy Dalton will never remember anyone from Lamar Jackson, but the Ravens rushed 249 yards against Big Blue, and Ezekiel Elliott (beef bruise) looked healthier last week than he had long ago.

Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham said it twice Thursday: “We have to play our best game.”

General manager Dave Gettleman has always believed in a strong defensive line, so Leonard Williams, Dalvin Tomlinson and Dexter Lawrence must do their part to make sure Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore doesn’t feed a hungry Elliott early and frequently and make life easier on the Blake Martinez coping machine, though setting the edge and improving the coping is key.

Graham will better figure out how to better outline a pass race: in 93 combined pass attempts from Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield and Jackson, to Lawrence Taylor and Michael Strahan, the Giants have recorded two sacks.

Dalton played in big games in Cincinnati, even if his playoff record was 0-4, and has Three Friends (Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup), who are more explosive than any of Jones ’receivers.

“I think all three of these guys could fit into that label of being one of the best receivers on a team and a man of character,” the judge said.

The Giants knew they had to start fast in Baltimore and they couldn’t. Jones cannot be put in a position where he is asked to play from behind, so it is imperative that Big Blue get a short field or, better yet, score. During this three-game losing streak, the Giants have only one food to take away (fumble recovery). Are you listening to Logan Ryan, Jabrill Peppers and James Bradberry?

“We have to go out and have our best match on Sunday,” the judge said.

It would be a big help if Jones and Darius Slayton remembered the chemistry they enjoyed last season and also in the first Cowboys game, when Slayton (8 catches, 129 yards) enjoyed his best game of the season and Garrett feels comfortable shouting shots.

“He’s going to take our best game on Sunday,” Jones said.

Jones tried 41 passes last week was a recipe for disaster. To his credit, he didn’t commit any billing, but any resemblance to the Giants ’Super Bowl XXV game plan to maintain a dangerous offense like this would be beneficial.

Think of the Giants ’rushing stats in the last three games: 78, 74 and 54 yards.

Think about the Giants ’possession time over the last three games: 22:07, 25:57, 24:51.

There are no special equipment weaknesses either.

“We have to be at our best when needed,” special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey said.

Last but not least, Jones must be at maximum security against a defense that has ten takeaways during the Cowboys ’three-game streak.

“Energy is through the roof,” Evan Engram said.

It better be. Must be. From Daniel Jones and all the latest football giants in New York.
