UPDATE: From the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page: On December 20, 2020, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a shooting occurred with an agent involved in Douglas NV County, near Douglas Ave, in Gardnerville, NV.
The incident is currently being investigated and no suspects are pending. The suspect is currently being treated at the hospital for injuries. Highway 395 / Gillman in Waterloo remains closed. The sheriff’s office asks the public to avoid the area. More information will be posted when available.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will be the main investigating agency, as the protocol for which officers were involved in shootings to investigate an outside agency said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. There are two suspects who were in a vehicle, a man and a woman, who were involved in the incident. Both are under arrest, Furlong said. The condition of the injured officer is unknown at this time.
