The Grizzly Rose hosts crowds inside its venue with a very limited social Saturday

DENVER – While The Grizzly Rose’s voicemail guarantees that all public health safety guidelines will be followed in the ballroom and bar, hundreds of people are packed into the business on Saturday.

Open only Friday and Saturday, the Grizzly Rose, which opened in 1989, has been a local favorite in Denver.

Jenny Orin said it’s a much-loved place in the community, but that she was surprised to see Saturday night crowds at the bar Saturday night on social media.

Orin’s sister watched Saturday night videos on Snapchat and showed it to her.

“It looks like maybe at first they were good at social distancing. They were kept six feet away, some people were wearing masks, but the video I saw last night was completely different. It was a total violation of the public. hello, ”Orin said.

Hundreds of people were packed inside Saturday night. Masks were a rarity and a virtually non-existent social distancing.

“It’s so amazing to see that they will ignore their community like that. I feel ignored,” Orin said.

He said the move to allow crowds of this size feels like “a step back in our timeline to get back to normal.”

Over the past year, other restaurants and music venues have faced legal battles over violations of the state health order.

So far, we have not received any response from local or state health departments about this massive concentration. Grizzly Rose also chose not to comment.

“I don’t know how I feel about fines and infractions, but what I saw last night shouldn’t happen and I want it to stop,” Orin said.
