The Guilty Gear Strive open beta will launch on February 18, but will be available soon for those who have ordered the game

Arc System Works is preparing (guilty) to do another beta test of Guilty Gear Strive. On February 18, the masses will be able to try out the game and several of its modalities before it launches on April 9th.

The company has unveiled details about the upcoming test this morning, sharing details that all players will be able to access with the beta version and when it will be released. Those who pre-order the digital version of the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will have the chance to play the beta one day before everyone else.

“The open beta test of #GuiltyGearStrive will be available on # PS4 and # PS5 from 7:00 PM PST on 2/18 to 6:59 AM PST on 2/21,” Arc System Works Twitter. “Players who make a digital reservation will be able to download the Open Beta a day earlier on 2/17 at 10:00 PST and start playing from 19:00 PST.”

Those who choose to jump into the beta will be able to play as 13 of the 15 Guilty Gear Strive release characters. Anji Mito and the 15th fighter will not be accessible here.

In terms of modes, Arc System Works offers players the opportunity to try quite a few. The beta version of Strive will include local mode versus mode, tutorial, training mode, and network mode.

Beta’s online combat will be played using a recovery code, and ArcSys notes that you’ll be able to enjoy games with “responsiveness comparable to offline.”

A couple of numbers at the top that indicate the ping time and the number of backspace frames that appear during a game will be included on the screen during beta matches. The company encourages beta testers to include the two numbers they see at the top of the screen when they report issues related to the online experience to better identify issues and improve the launch experience.
