The health of the former Argentine president is deteriorating

Former Argentine President and current Senator Carlos Menem was hospitalized in a delicate condition on Friday in a sanatorium in Buenos Aires following a kidney failure suffered in recent hours.

Menem, 90 years old and who ruled for two consecutive periods between 1989 and 1999, has been hospitalized for ten days in the sanatorium Los Arcos in the Argentine capital and spent Christmas night with his ex-wife Zulema Yoma and his daughter Zulemita Menem.

Yoma told media that the state of the Peronist legislator “is delicate.”

Menem was admitted to this health center on December 15 for a urinary tract infection.

During the days following the former president they indicated that he was being monitored for his heart failure, to which was then added a kidney failure.

Throughout the year, Menem suffered from other health problems.

On July 2, the senator turned 90 while hospitalized for a picture of low oxygen saturation in his blood. A few days earlier he had been discharged from another health center after being hospitalized for bacterial pneumonia.
