Description of the text provided by the architects. The High House is set up as a boomerang to accentuate the natural curvature of the terrain. It is placed on the edge of the hill in order to maximize the 180 degree view of the place. The street side of the house includes high walls to provide privacy and allow plenty of light.

The canyon side of the house features floor-to-ceiling glass that attracts the city of Austin beyond. Rooms at this incomparable house enjoy views of the canyon.

Brief. Design a single storey house on a plot with extreme slope. Place the house to enjoy the views of the canyon and the center

Solutions. A retaining wall consisting of boards was placed to give way to the ground. The retaining wall became higher than necessary to become the main disappearing wall of the house. One side of the retaining wall is a driveway and pedestrian access, and the other side is the home, supported on docks up to 30 feet.
