The hosts of the night took the time out of their shows on Tuesday to mourn the loss of comedy icon Norm Macdonald after his death at the age of 61.
According to reports, the only comedian and former presenter of “Weekend Update” of “Saturday Night Live” died after a nine-year battle against cancer that he decided to deliver in private. James Corden rolled the ball and noted that Macdonald’s decision not to make the cancer diagnosis public was very much in line with his character.
“All Norm wanted to do was laugh and it was absolutely brilliant,” the “Late Late Show” host said. “There was no one at all like him. I felt privileged every time I got into his orbit. He leaves us as one of the best comics of all time, perhaps the greatest guest in the history of night television, I think. “
