Tiger Woods was more seriously injured in his February car accident than initial reports indicated, including being “unconscious” and suffering an “open fracture,” it was revealed Wednesday.
The terrible injuries of the golf legend were detailed in an incident report submitted by the first lifeguards in Los Angeles, obtained by TMZ Sports.
“Unconscious, laceration to the lower front jaw, fall of the right and left rib cage, fracture of the tibia and right fibula, possible injuries to the right ankle,” the report said, in the section labeled “describes the injuries “
The report also provides more details about Woods’ leg injury, which says “open fracture, middle axis in right leg, below knee,” according to the dam.
Woods was driving at almost twice the speed, when he lost control of the SUV, crossed the median and crashed into a tree at 75 mph at Rancho Palos Verdes, officials said Tuesday, after checking the vehicle’s black box.
The golfer broke several bones in his lower right leg when the SUV spun. Investigators said he slowed down too late.
Although Woods was doing 87 mph in a 45 mph zone, the sheriff said Woods will not be charged with speeding because police officers did not observe him breaking the law.
“I am so grateful to the good Samaritans who came to help me and called 911,” Woods tweeted on wednesday.
“I am also grateful to LASD MPs and LA firefighters / paramedics.”
The 45-year-old is recovering in Florida.
