The Integrated Area of ​​Guadalajara receives 26 sixth-year medical students who join for the practical training at the end of their university studies | NuevaAlcarria

Today, 26 sixth-year medical students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Alcalá have started the practical training corresponding to the end of their university studies.

The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the UAH, Gabriel de Dalt, and the Deputy Dean of the Hospital of Guadalajara, José Luis Izquierdo, welcomed these students in an event that included the presence of the manager of the GAI of Guadalajara, Antonio Sanz Villaverde, and the medical director of the same, Manuel Laredo, next to some of the professors of this group of students.

The manager of the GAI of Guadalajara has expressed gratitude to these students who are facing the final stretch of their university education. Sanz Villaverde wished them luck in their training in an area that stands out for their “vocation and teaching ability” and from which students have come out “with extraordinary records” and excellent results in the MIR exam.

He also referred to the possibilities of expanding the hospital and expressed his desire for these students to choose Guadalajara for their specialized training and to “stay to work with us.”

For his part, the medical director of the Management, Manuel Laredo, has encouraged them to take advantage of the training opportunities that will be offered and has insisted on the commitment of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha in the development and training of health professionals, with the progressive increase in recent years in the number of residents and the incorporation of new teaching specialties.

Dr. José Luis Izquierdo, deputy vice dean and head of this group of students, expressed his satisfaction with the gradual return to normality in training after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, although he recalled the need not to lowering the guard in the face of the existing “sense of security”.

During this first day, the students have received useful information to face their practical training, relative to prevention of labor risks and security of patients and professionals and have known, by part of his tutors, the fundamental lines of the training in each one of the subjects.

On the other hand, over the next month, lower-level medical students will be joining for their internships, ending on 25 October with the arrival of third-year students.
