The wait continues
A large part of the fighting game community was pumping to finally see what The King of Fighters 15 will look like after years of waiting, but it looks like everyone will have to maintain that anticipation even longer.
SNK announced today that they have postponed the announcements for season 3 of KOF15 and Samurai Shodown, which were initially scheduled to take place this evening.
The bewilderment of an announcement came via SNK’s official Twitter account, where they claim that both reveal that they no longer take place as previously planned.
No official reasoning or replacement date was included with SNK’s publication, although they apologize for the last-minute delay.
This sudden change of direction seems rather strange considering that SNK continued to tweet about the event until this morning with other company representatives doing the same two hours before the postponement. The ad also dropped at 1:30 am local time in Japan.
The developers had been promising to unveil the first trailer for King of Fighters 15 more than a month ago after releasing a small teaser video showing some initial concept art for a handful of characters.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who was waiting for the ads. We will inform our fans as soon as the new date and time has been confirmed and we will appreciate your kind understanding. #SNK

Returning favorites like Kyo, Benimaru, K ‘, Leona and Shun’ei were included with the December teaser, and now the waiting time to see them in action is once again becoming a question mark.
In addition to KOF, the company was also going to reveal the first two characters of Season Pass 3 of Samurai Shodown, with one of the fighters a crossover from another SNK series, The Last Blade.
SNK producer Yasuyuki Oda previously stated that he is working to make KOF15 the supreme masterpiece of the series and that he is working to use “new technologies” for development, but the concrete details about the project are still scarce.
It was first revealed to investors in late 2018, King of Fighters 15 would not be released to the public until EVO 2019, where only a logo was shown, with which SNK would go virtually silent on the radio. project until this winter.
This also comes just weeks after another strange news came out of SNK and the company planned to launch a new console sometime in 2021, possibly the NeoGeo 2, a system that is said to be a semi-open platform for gaming. and a successor to the original NeoGeo launched in the early 1990s.
King of Fighters 15 is preparing to be a direct sequel to KOF14, which was released in 2016 and marked the beginning of SNK’s new impetus to reach the market for fighting games in the HD and 3D realm.
SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy and Samurai Shodown have followed suit in recent years, although many have also been eagerly anticipating a new KOF all along.
Unfortunately, now everything is back to the limit with everything coming out of the studio, but we can expect this delay to be brief.
