The Lakers will visit the White House when Joe Biden takes over the presidency

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday that they will visit the White House as NBA champions after President-elect Democrat Joe Biden takes office on Jan. 20.

The visit of the NBA champions in the 2019-2020 season will take place in the course of the current season, said the Angelina entity.

Since Republican Donald Trump took over as president of the United States no NBA champion team has visited the White House.

Biden’s election victory over President Trump was confirmed early Thursday morning, just hours after thousands of supporters of the current president invaded the Capitol building in Washington.

Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president in U.S. history.

The Lakers do not yet have an official date to visit Biden.

The NBA has only released the first half of its calendar, which runs through March 4th.

In the 1980s, President Ronald Reagan began inviting all of the country’s national champion teams in professional and college sports to the White House.

Biden’s victory in the election sparked many reactions from around the sports world, even the ninth of the Washington Nationals invited the president-elect to make the inaugural launch of the 2021 season.
