Warner Bros. will spend 2021 simultaneously releasing all of his films on both HBO Max and theaters, and while Wonder Woman 1984 era technically the first film that came out under this system, came out in 2020 and therefore doesn’t count. This makes it the thriller of John Lee Hancock The little things the real first film to come out since Warner Bros. turned his back on the film business (this excavation is for our friend Chris), and this past weekend was the first of the new era of the studio. So how did he do it The little things do at the brick and mortar box office? Ehh, let’s just say I’ve seen better.

Look, as we’ve said over and over since September or so, nothing works especially at the box office these days, unless it’s the Croods sequel and can hold up for an awesome 10 weeks because it’s the only new family film (or novelty, since it came out 10 weeks ago) that plays in most theaters that have opened. The little things won $ 4.8 million, which was enough to get to the top spot this past weekend, even if they didn’t have that much money, but it will be interesting to see if the film has any leg at the box office with other thrillers to compete (By Liam Neeson The shooter it still holds up and history suggests that there will be another new Liam Neeson thriller coming out any day).

Anyway, the rest is everything we’ve seen before: The Croods: A New Age added $ 1.8 more to the total, which was just under $ 44 million Wonder Woman 1984 it continued to lag behind with $ 1.3 million (standing at $ 39 million). Then there is the aforementioned Door handle ($ 1.2 million for a total of $ 7 million) and video game adaptation Monster Hunter ($ 740,000 for a total of $ 11 million). The only other rookie this week was Supernova, landing in 11th place with just $ 98,670. That $ 4 million doesn’t sound so bad now, eh?
