The “Lord of the Rings” trilogy returns to theaters 20 years later

Coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the release of the first film in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Warner Bros. today announced the theatrical re-release of the three tapes directed and remastered in 4K by Peter Jackson from next April 30th.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” will be available for one week, between April 30th and May 6th. The next day, May 7, the second part, “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers,” will premiere, which can be enjoyed until May 13; and the third, “The Return of the King,” May 14-22.

Released in theaters in 2001, the saga based on the books of JRR Tolkien was a hit with audiences and critics. The three films have won a total of 17 Oscars, eleven of them for the third installment.

Last year began filming a new and ambitious series for Amazon Studios based on “The Lord of the Rings” that will take place thousands of years before the events narrated in this trilogy and in “The Hobbit”, in the ” Second Age of the Middle Earth “, with JA Bayona as executive producer and director of the first two chapters.
