If you’re wondering where the real chamber of secrets lies, it might be.
A 23-year-old real estate developer from Sussex, England, was looking at old photos of the 500-year-old family estate when he noticed something quirky.
Freddy Goodall observed a door in the library of the 16th century house. When he realized he now didn’t see the same door in the room, he started digging.
“I looked for it but at first I couldn’t see anything, and then I realized it was hidden behind a shelf,” Goodall told Jam Press. “Finally, behind one of the books, I found a hole leading to the hidden room.”
Goodall’s story came to light when he released a TikTok video of the discovery, which has since garnered 4.5 million views.

In the video, Goodall is seen wiping the books off the shelves, removing the screws from the wooden panel, and then lifting the panel, surprised to find a dark, empty room behind the mantle.
This caused Goodall to notice another panel on the floor, which he then lifted to discover a secret corridor leading to underground rooms.

But his adventure doesn’t stop there.
Goodall observes a staircase in one of the underground tunnels, which goes up, only to find a larger room on top full of cobwebs, dust and a wasp nest.
Goodall finally realizes that he is in a rabbit hole when the room leads him to another hallway and leads him to a basement, two other secret rooms, another hallway with stairs, and several more hallways.

According to Goodall, the corridors are believed to have been used by servants to facilitate their access to the property, which somehow went unnoticed by the owner.
Other mysteries discovered during his expedition were a brick wall with mysterious names and dates written in chalk and an ancient safe that appeared to be intact for decades.
He was able to enter the safe to find books dating back to 1848 with information about the property and letters.

In the 1900s, the home was said to be used as an educational institution and Goodall located old books and desks used at the time.
“I was excited to find something new in a house where I’ve lived for so long!” He told Jam Press excitedly. “It was pitch black, at first very creepy.”
“I think they were passages from servants passing under the house and they used this to come and go from their accommodation without being noticed,” he explained. “Some of the underground rooms have been built on top, as one has slabs that we believe is where the horses were kept.”

“I left the rooms as they were, I like that they’ve been the same for hundreds of years, in every room there’s so much history.”
In a series of TikTok videos, users wanted to follow this journey with Goodall.
“I would have immediately called the police at my house,” one user said.
“You need to run out of this house. It’s so haunted … live with your mother or something, ”said another user.
“Where a serial killer hides their bodies,” another added.
