Four years ago (or four years ago yesterday if we’re being demanding), Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle brought Switch a new and charming flavor of turn-based tactics. With the unlikely pairing of Super Mario and Ubisoft’s Rabbids, the game wasn’t at all great, not only did it beat Nintendo fans, but it had enough performance to justify a sequel.
To celebrate the occasion, the Ubisoft team has shared a special work of art depicting Mario, Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach and a delicious birthday cake. We can’t believe it’s been four years …
Fans of the original have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming sequel, Sparks of Hope. It was recently revealed that the development team has tripled in size to meet the game’s “much bigger ambitions”, and the title has already started picking up nominations for awards despite not being out until next year. .
