BioWare gave us our first real look at Mass Effect Legendary Edition last week. The remastered package includes the three titles from the original trilogy, retouched with improved character models, resources, textures and lighting. It is also expected to run at 60 frames per second on PS5 and PS4 Pro, with support for 4K resolution.
We’ve already seen how Commander Shepard’s cup was revised in the first game, but what about everything else? Well, GameSpot has put together an excellent nine-minute video that combines screenshots of the original games (on PC) with screenshots of the revelation trailer, which we’ve included above. It doesn’t take long to realize that the Legendary Edition is an expected leap in the right direction. Everything has an extra level of detail and the lighting is much more effective. The difference isn’t as noticeable in Mass Effect 3 (again, expected), but overall, Legendary Edition looks fantastic.
