The Miami Heat requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19

MIAMI – The Miami Heat announced Friday that all employees should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Sept. 1.

There will be exemptions for those expecting a second dose of two-shot vaccine or those with “a qualifying medical condition or a sincere religious belief,” the team said. Employees who have not met the vaccination requirements before that date will not be allowed to work at work and, if they do not comply, will be deemed to have resigned.

The Heat said in a statement that “the stability and success of the live event industry depends on prioritizing the safety of our players, employees, partners, fans, vendors and the media. One of the ways in which what we can substantially minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission is to ensure vaccination of all staff. “

The Heat have yet to reveal their plans to host home fans this season.
