The Ministry of Internal Trade sanction for a total of $ 7.7 million to companies of prepaid medicine and health services for breaches in the publication of contracts and the lack of installation of the termination bot on their websites.

The National Directorate of Consumer Protection and Consumer Arbitration found that companies Galeno Argentina SA, Medicina prepaid Hominis SA, and CEMIC infringe Article 38 of the Law 24,240 on Consumer Protectionr which obliges companies providing services to publish on their websites the model contract to be signed.

In those cases, the fines were $ 750,000, $ 600,000 and $ 700,000, respectively, the portfolio reported in a statement.

Among the reasons for sanction, the official provisions emphasize that these contracts “are usually concluded by adherence to predisposed clauses where the relationship established between the contractors is asymmetric, because the terms of the relationship are established unilaterally by the health company (.. .) to this end, it must be borne in mind that in the context of public and notorious knowledge that runs through the country, access to contracts through the website (…) becomes an indispensable tool for the health care of the population “.

On the other hand, too the companies Aca Salut, Bristol Medicina, Apres, CEMIC, Grupo Premedic, Prevención Salud, Esteban Medical Circle, Corporación Assistencial, Lomas de Zamora Medical Circle and Hominis Prepaid Medicine were sanctioned. for breaching resolution n316 / 18 of the Secretary of Commerce which establishes that suppliers of certain activities must include on its website a link for consumers to access the request to unsubscribe from the service, which is easy to see and easily accessible.

In the latter case the fines ranged from $ 450,000 to $ 750,000 per company.
