The new Bungie game reveals the first important details

Although Bungie is best known (currently) for her work Destiny 2, the studio is working on another secret project right now. And while it could be literally years until the company is ready to reveal what this new game could be, it looks like some of the first details of the upcoming title have finally started to come up in a pretty roundabout way.

Bungie’s career page has recently published a list of jobs for an incubator multiplayer systems designer at the company. While this may not seem very important at first glance, the description of the role is where things get interesting. The study says it is looking for a candidate who has experience in multiplayer PvP games, to be specific. The publication then emphasizes that additional familiarity with sports is also a necessary skill for the person who ends up hiring. In addition, it is said that experience with working in a live game across “multiple platforms” is also needed.

While there’s not much else to get out of this workplace, we can deduce a lot that what Bungie is working on next will have an important multiplayer element. Although Destiny 2 features a multiplayer PvP game, the game has never been one that has really been known for this aspect. Plus, it’s never been a title that people really consider a sport.

Watching Bungie get back to work on a new game that has a vital multiplayer component is pretty exciting considering the story of the studio in space. While no longer working in the Halo franchise, Bungie revolutionized the multiplayer first-person shooter genre with his work on the series more than a decade ago. If you could somehow capture the same magic once again with a new property, you should imagine that many fans would be very much on board. Still, it will probably be quite some time until we finish seeing what this new IP is, so let’s not get carried away too much.
