There is a race this weekend. A large one, called the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Do you know what will be there? Corvettes. You know what GM is up to revelation on October 26th? Another Corvette!
Okay, not just any Corvette: this is the new Z06, the mid-speed version of the Corvette that will likely share some internal organs with the Corvette C8.R which is in Le Mans this weekend. I say “half fast” because there probably will be be a ZR1 at some point, and those who have historically owned the fastest Vette title. But they also tend to come later in the life cycle, and anyway, we move forward here.
You may have gone through some spying shots of a Corvette with many wings and an angry jaw starting at the Nürburgring last week. It turns out that the same car (a Z06) was on holiday in Germany, before leaving for France for this weekend’s big race to cheer on his family, as we can see in this video. Corvettes are such a supportive clan. It also took him a while to get around the Sarthe Circuit while the track was free of action, because apparently, he manages to get on with other people’s parties.
In this teaser we can hear the Z06 singing the unmistakable mermaid song of an angry V8 high-speed plane, just like the GT car does. Couple with the fact that this will be the first Z06 medium engine and the engineers who have been He grabbed it by comparing it to the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and could be called anticipation for this high.
We will see it without camouflage in about two months. That said, even without a clear, unvarnished view, I think I decided on the crumpled rear wing: it sounds silly.
