It’s an exciting time for Forza Motorsport, as Microsoft’s sim racing franchise is gearing up for a reboot and its first installment in the Xbox Series X and S console generation. Although there is still no indication that we will see the game released in 2021, developer Turn 10 Studios revealed Wednesday that it will soon offer a “part” of the upcoming project to play testers on its Forza panel.

To check for yourself, you’ll need to sign up for the 10th Anniversary Dashboard. Registration is quick and can be done in a couple of minutes with this basic survey, although it is unclear when the invitations will be released. Forza Motorsport’s official Twitter originally said participants had already started receiving invitations later clarified that hadn’t happened yet, and players would have their chance “soon”.

10-year-old creative director Chris Esaki unveiled the initiative during a monthly Forza broadcast. Esaki says Turn 10 has been doing weekly game testing at Xbox Game Studios, but now he thinks it’s the right time to expand it into the community:

“The new news is that we will soon be able to share it with our people on our Forza panel. In fact, they can be put in the hands of a part of our novelty Forza Motorsport game. Therefore, if you are part of the Forza panel, we recommend that you are not in the Forza panel, the only way to get this part of the new Forza Motorsport the title will be part of this panel.

“We will continue to plan this type of testing as we move forward in the coming months and ensure that more and more people in the community enjoy this experience. Once again, hang up on these Forza panels and you will be able to check out the new or part of the new, Forza Motorsport“.

Esaki says the Turn 10 development approach with this upcoming entry doesn’t look like anything the team has done before. It is not yet clear why; of course, we only saw one short trailer to the engine of the title so far dating back to last summer.

At the same time, Dan Greenawalt, the main creator of the franchise, posted a blog mainly talking about the technical ribs of the next game, including its support for ray tracing, although he didn’t tell us anything specific about the structure of the game.

Judging by the focus on the team brand and garage action in the teaser images, the Turn 10 seems to be geared towards a more authentic motoring experience this time around. It could deviate from the standard “car-PG” direction of Forces past and of course main great Tourism games.

Even the name of the game is not confirmed at this time. Esaki refers to it as the “new Forza Motorsport“In line with the simplified title and the new logo shown in the trailer. If this really is the restart of Microsoft’s sim racing franchise, many fans suspect it is, an unnumbered entry would convey that renewed ambition. Thank you in this testing program, it looks like we’ll all have a better idea of what precisely Turn 10 is planning sooner rather than later.
