The new LG 325-inch 8k TV occupies the entire wall and costs $ 1.7 million – Robb Report

Why have a wall TV, unless it occupies the entire wall? This seems to be the question LG is asking with its new LED TVs.

The electronic monster has just unveiled its new range of home theater sets with direct LED display (DVLED), the largest of which measures a mind-boggling 325-inch diagonal. Previously only available to commercial customers, gagantuan TV is now available to the rest of us, even if you have to part with a small fortune to get it.

Of course, LG’s DVLED is not the first wall-mounted TV we’ve seen, which would be the Samsung Wall, but it does use LED display technology as the brand’s only pixel. Most LED TVs use an LCD layer to create pixels, but LG’s new TVs use only LEDs (three for each pixel) to do so. The result is an image that promises to offer more vivid colors and a more real contrast, all without the risk of burning that comes with your medium flat screen. In addition, the dashboard can be used to display a complete image, or several at a time, in custom shapes.

To accommodate the 325-inch unit, you need space for many LEDs (2 to 33 million), which is why these TVs are so huge. LG offers a variety of very large DVLED size options. There is the Full-HD version ranging from 81 to 215 inches; a 4K option that you can get between 163 and 325 inches and finally an 8K model that is available in a single size: 325 inches. The high-end DVLED model has 33 million LEDs in its 23.6-foot by 13.3-foot frame and makes the balance equally 2,222 pounds. Only the installation required special training.

Prices for the full range have not yet been announced, but CNET reports that the front-line model will generate you $ 1.7 million. To put it in perspective, this outweighs the cost of the Bentley Bentayga, Continental and Flying Spur combined—with room for another supercar or two. The upside is that the theater TV includes a free five-year customer service package that the brand values at $ 30,000. With such a large TV, we suspect you’ll need it.
