According to new tests, the new PS5 model works better than the launch model, unlike recent reports. Last month, Sony made a change to the PS5 and, in the process, removed the heatsink from the launch model and replaced it with a smaller heatsink, leading many to believe that the new model was a lower version than the launch model. However, the above evidence suggests otherwise. Not only has there not been a drop, but the test results show an improvement in temperature regulation.
The test is close to the YouTube channel Hardware Busters International and the German website Igorslab, and is quite extensive and conclusive. As expected, there is not much difference between the cooling of the launch model and the new model, but there are slight differences, many of which favor the latter.
Below you can consult the test and its conclusions for yourself:
At the moment, there is a lot of conflicting information about the new PS5 model, but it seems to be the most extensive test to date. That said, for now, take it with a grain of salt until no further evidence is provided. And of course, if you’re worried about getting lost, don’t be, as improvements are marginal in the grand scheme of things. The most important thing for your PS5 to work well is to take proper care of it and make sure that dust does not accumulate in the fans. Most PS4 consoles that work very hard work hard due to dust buildup.
At the time of publication, Sony has not said a word about the new PS5 model and the changes it makes to the cooling. At this time, it is unlikely to do so, but if you provide any official information, we will be sure to update the story accordingly.
