A new PlayStation leak has revealed that a great PS4 game will be re-released on the PS5. When the PS4 was released, it looked like every PS3 game and its brother was remastered and reissued on the PS4. And if that didn’t happen, the game was remade for the PS4. However, one of the most important reasons is that the PS4 was not compatible with the PS3. On PS5, this is not a problem, as it plays virtually every PS4 game. However, this will not stop all games from the launch path.
Right now, one of the most popular PS4 games, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, can be played on PS5, but only by compatibility with previous versions. In other words, there is no suitable PS5 version of the game, but it looks like it is about to change.
More on Twitter, Gematsu reveals that the 365games retailer has recently appeared Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Deluxe Edition for the PS5, apparently filtering the ad before Ubisoft could do so. At this time, there is no list for a version of the Xbox Series X, but it is safe to assume that a similar new release is in the works for the new Microsoft console.
It’s also safe to assume that the PS5 (and Xbox Series X) version will include a variety of visual and performance updates, but for now, it remains to be seen how many resources Ubisoft will pour into the ports. And, of course, it’s worth remembering that, for now, nothing here is official. The listing can be a mistake or the retailer is looking for traffic. And it could also be a placeholder. However, do you know what else it could be? A genuine filtration. If this is true, expect an announcement soon.
At the time of publication, Ubisoft has not commented on this leak, and is unlikely to change, but if it does, we will be sure to update the story with what the French game maker says.
