We will finally get a better picture of what awaits us for the PS5 during a September 9 showcase, Sony announced in the PlayStation Blog today.

The PS5 showcase will last about 40 minutes and will include updates from various PlayStation studios on games “that will launch this holiday and beyond.” The PlayStation blog noted that the showcase will not include any information about Sony’s own PS5 VR headphones, but will have subsequent interviews with the program with developers, delving into some details about some of the ads.

The news of the showcase comes after a relatively quiet summer from PlayStation. Sony did not have any live streaming of its own nor did it make a substantial appearance at third-party events like E3. Out of ad announcements for PS5 ports like Ghost of Tsushima i Cuts of the director of Death Stranding, the maximum we heard came when Guerilla Games appeared at Gamescom last week to confirm the delay of Horizon Forbidden West until February 2022.

As a result, the PS5 release schedule for the first time has been looking for some light for this fall into the holiday season. After the exclusive timed console Death Loop comes out next month there is a cross-action adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits and then … not much more, out of cross-platform blockbusters like Battlefield 2042 i Guardians of the galaxy.

The next untitled God of war game that everyone has taken to calling God of War: Ragnarok they had previously been mocked for a 2021 version, but it was also postponed. Some other games have also fallen in 2022 due to ongoing work complications resulting from the pandemic.

The PS5 started strong this year with Return i Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Hopefully you still have a surprise or two up your sleeve to finish in 2021. The September 9 showcase is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm ET YouTube i Twitch.
