On March 27, 2011, Nintendo launched the 3DS, its successor handheld of successful success Nintendo DS. It has since been sold 70 million units all over the world and had a lot of fantastic games released over the last decade.

I was lucky enough to stick a 3DS at launch. While in 2011 the shortage of consoles was one thing, it was nothing like today. This is what I mean: My dad and I went to a store, maybe Walmart, on a whim, about a week after the 3DS came out. We didn’t check it online or call in advance. And when we got there, we found four or five 3DS consoles behind the plexiglass, sitting around, waiting for the purchase. Imagine that today? I don’t see myself entering a store a week or even a month after the launch of a large console and only finding one in 2021.

Once I got the 3D, I played a lot Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D because I’m a big fool and I love it Resident Evil games. I was also excited play Revelations. The other memory I have of the 3DS at launch was playing with cards and RA games. Not for more than a few days, but they were fun and something neat to show people.

The 3DS is the last Nintendo console I bought at launch. (Although if this 4k Switch is not too expensive, I could buy a Nintendo console the first day. We will see..) As long as it is away from my favorite console, I still fondly remember my time with her. I even liked the 3D features. I left this slider on because it looked great.

What memories do you have of the Nintendo 3DS? And who else played there Revelations demonstration a the Mercs 3D way more than once?
